Got up at the crack of dawn and left by 6:00 AM to be at Foxwoods by
8:15 AM to take advantage of triple points -- and a mailer with some
free points.
Played $0.25 JWD. All the good-paying machines except one were open
this early, but as the morning continued they began to fill up.
Started of well with an early 5-of-a-kind, but then floundered until
it was time to leave about 11:15 AM at exactly break even for the
morning, But pulled in almost $40 in comp points playing quarters
for a about three hours.
Before leaving Foxwoods, had lunch at Fuddruckers. Good grilled
chicken sandwich for lunch.
On the way out, I walked by the bingo lobby area and it was like a
ghost town. I peaked into the Bingo room and it was empty -- almost
eerie, as I had never seen it empty during the day before.
Time to go to Mohegan and buy stuff with my second Christmas mailer.
Before shopping, I hit the old poker room and dropped a very quick
$100 (bah humbug) in the $1 Pick'Em machines. After hitting about
four stores, finally found something in Brookstones on which to use
my mailer.
Overall today, Mohegan and Foxwoods seemed uncharacteristically NOT
busy.
Went back to work in the old poker room about 1:30+ PM and gradually
lost another $300 over the next few hours on $1.00 Pick'Em. Only
saw one 4-of-a-kind come up in the room by a guy on the far right
machine and then later the same guy pulled a straight flush while
playing triple bonus poker. About 5:00 o'clock PM +- it appeared as
thought the second shift was arriving and I met a guy from a suburb
of Lowell, MA, the same town in which my wife works and we exchanged
a few stories about the town. Finally, just after 5:00 PM, when I
was close to packing it in with $5 left in credits on my $400 budget
(four-6s shows up on my machine) and brings me a $200 profit for the
day instead of a $400 loss. Also added $85 of comp points to my
account for the day.
I think the ubiquitous Bill K. also showed up at this point just as
I was collecting my money and as I left I wished him luck. Had a
fast burger at Fidelia's before leaving and made it home to the far
reaches of the north shore of MA by 8:15 PM.
I think this will be my last trip to CT this year. It was a good
year for me. Hope yours was as well.
Happy New Year to all!!!
