Cruising?

Next January my family and I will be taking a Royal Caribbean cruise,
and I was wondering if they offer any good VP? I know things can
change and this is pretty early to be inquiring, but if anyone has
past experience I'd love to hear about it. We'll be on the Voyager
of the Seas.

The good news is she's a fabulous ship. For $100 you can get in-cabin
Internet access for the week. Make sure you go to the purser's deck
immediately upon embarkation and get your setup because they run out.

The bad news is the video poker was the worst I have ever seen as of
January.

I don't have first hand experience, but cruise reports uniformly
discuss poor ship paytables. One might expect this given no
competition once on board.

There is one notable exception to this: The VP Cruise organized by
Bob Dancer - http://www.bobdancer.com/cruise.html (Sailing 9/19-26
this year) That cruise, on the Norwegian Dawn out of New York,
features 9/6 Jacks and NSUD at $1+ denoms.

It's occurred to me to wonder whether they leave these paytables
intact for other Dawn sailings or if they're reset.

Most cruise ships offer, as their VERY BEST, 6/5 bonus.
Very seldom, better than than, usually worse.
