Haven't been on either of those ships, but just returned from a week's
cruise on the Carnival Pride. VP is horrendous. No JB or DB. The few DW
games paid 1 for a straight, 4 for a quad. Other games were all low ER
also. Others have mentioned that all cruise gaming is similar in terms of
VP.
OTOH, it's doubtful that most people put in long hours playing vp with so
much else to do on cruises, so your results will be dictated by variance as
the primary factor anyway. Maybe you'll be luckier than I was...
Also, don't be tempted into playing for points (on Carnival, your stateroom
key card doubles as a slot card). There are no additional nights and
you've already paid for your buffet. The cap you win will cost you $500.
Just a quick story... I shot craps onboard with a guy who had a minimum of
$20 on all numbers and covered all the hardways. His line bets were $20
with double odds. He held the dice for a half-hour and at one point threw
six consecutive nines. He hit his hardways also. In that half hour, he
threw only two sevens, both on comeout rolls. Variance in action.

Does anyone have information about what VP is available on the Coral
Princess (or the sister ship, Island Princess)? I know there won't
be anything really good, but I would like to know what the best
available games are. Has anyone been on either of these ships?
Thanks.
