Cruise Ship Paytables.....

I've heard in the past that Cruise Ships tend not to have descent VP
machines (pay-out wise). I just came back from a trip to the
caribbean on the Royal Caribbean: Voyager of the Seas. The cruise,
the ship and the customer service was excellent, maybe the best
vacation I've ever been on; however, I didn't know VP pay-tables
could be so bad!!! The only game I know is JoB and after looking at
each machine (15 or 20 total) all the pay-tables were the same:
6/5. I've seen and played 8/5 and 7/5, but have never heard of
6/5. We stopped in Nassau and I got to go to Atlantis for a couple
hours (can't wait to take a vacation there, it's amazing) and they
atleast had some 8/5 machines.
Moral: Go on a cruise, eat excellent food every 1/2 hour, gain some
weight, have a blast, but don't go expecting to play video poker!
BTW - Some of the machines on the ship didn't have JoB but they had
Draw Poker, are they the same???

I've only heard of one exception to the rule of horrendous cruise ship
paytables: the annual vp cruise sponsored by Bob Dancer on the NCL
Dawn, where a handful of $1/$2 machines are set to 9/6 Jacks and NSUD.

However, indications are (unconfirmed) that outside of that one
sailing these machines are reset to more typical 6/5 Jacks, etc.

I think they're overlooking an attractive marketing segment by not
maintaining favorable paytables on at least one ship year round.
