Cruise ship jackpot tipping

Just in case hell freezes over, I want to be prepared on tipping if I
win a jackpot on our cruise.

Do Jean Scott's guidelines for jackpot tipping also apply to
cruises...for example, $10/$1000 jackpot, $20/$4000, etc.?

Any advice? Thanks for your help.

Aside from the facts that you'll find the worst paytables you've
probably ever seen, and the probability that you'll not be cruising
often enough to gain many benefits from the so-called Players Clubs the
cruise line have, I would generally use the same guidelines.

But
a couple of other things to think about: there is little likelihood of
scoring any comps, including free drinks, and there is, in my
experience, no same trip bounceback cash. There generally are some
cashback provisions while you're playing, though, such as $10 slot
credits back for so many 1,000 club points, and depending on your level
of play, you may get a slot credit on your next cruise, a free couple
of drinks on your next cruise, and once, miracle of miracles, a free
drink on the same cruise. Of course, the free drink was only offered
after I hit a royal, trying, I'd guess, to keep me playing so I could
give the money back.

All-in-all,
I find myself playing much less than I would on a trip to a land
casino; treat the casino the same way you'd treat the over-priced
photos, souvenirs and "bargain" jewelry, as just another opportunity
for the cruise line to squeeze some extra dollars out of each cabin.

In
general, though, I'd have to say I really enjoy cruising, and if you
keep the playing to true recreational enjoyment levels, the casino can definitely add to the overall experience.

I would think the tipping guidelines could be the same on land or sea. And, as always, this is a personal choice!
