i was on the Tropicana VIP cruise on the Spirit in Nov 2004 and on
the Carnival Conquest in Nov 2005. suffice it to say that VP on the
cruise ships is not too good. the pay scales are terrible (i like to
play DDB but not with 6/5 pay scales!) and they require you to play
10 coins at a pop for "max bet" although you can play 5 coins. you
just have to be careful to not hit the bet Max button!
the VP on the ship was so depressing to me that i basically just
played quarter slots on both cruises with only a very light forray
to the VP machines just to get away from the boredom of the slots.
you can use your room card as a slot card and i do advise you do
that to get some cash back.
so my advice is to enjoy all of the other ammenties aboard the ship
(the cruise itself is a lot of fun) and consider the gambling as
entertainment only.
have fun!
Since the VP is out, how about the blackjack?
