Has the siege ended? Are there any survivors? Would a vat of boiling oil

Does anyone know if anything playable has survived? 3/5 play jacks? STP
jacks? Nsud?

Lots of reports, but I haven't seen the final autopsy reports as of
yet.....)-;

Yes, one machine but not at Caesars Palace. The machine is downtown and
still in working condition but nobody is allowed to play it. Part of the second
floor of Fitzgerald's casino was purchased by the City of Las Vegas for use as
a historic gaming museum. Inside the bullet proof glassed room are life
size wax mock ups of all the famous advantage players nervously waiting in line
to play the last remaining over 100% Video Poker Machine in the world. The
lone Loose Deuces nickel machine was said to have an optimum pay back of
101.6%. The posed dummy statues tell quite a story in silent animation of arguing
over which cards to hold and waving historic books and software they thought
were the best. Little water bottles they brought from home are seen in their
coat pockets. A glum cocktail waitress wax statue is in the corner holding an
empty tray because of no drink orders. The lucky player seated at the machine
is shown cowering as he waits for a hand pay from hitting the Deuces. Above
the player is a very expensive suited manager calling for thug like security
guard statues to haul out the guy after he's paid. Outside the thick glass a
little boy asks his parent, "Mommy? Are those real people?"

More can be read in the Sunday RJ.

If such existed downtown (<smile>), it reminds me of the display at the Manned
Spacecraft Center (Johnson Space Center) in Clear Lake City. When I was at MSC , I used to
go there at lunch time to watch the visitors gawking at the huge, unused Saturn V, lying
sadly on its side. Many kids, just a gleam in their parents eyes at the time of the Apollo
missions, asking their parents...did we really go to the Moon?"

Sad...sad...sad...maybe the end of another era.

sniff...sniff sigh! sigh!
