COW-the Fitz

The Fitz got me back to Vegas after a six year hiatus. They had
monthly web contests, which you could win 2 nights comped. I played
along and ended up going last Thanksgiving/Friday. Then the joint
was sold, no more fun web contest.

They irritated me. Quit without explanation. My O'lucky bucks
vanished with the new slot club.

I thought my room was fine. Even enjoyed the free Turkey Day
buffet. Found a couple playable games, including the 17/10 Loose
Dueces, which still were quarters. I found it interesting that I
could play this one game almost anytime I wanted.

The parking garage is a thrill ride...two way traffic maybe 30 cars
to a floor. The elevators for rooms and garage dump you right into
the action.

Their website still is quite informative, listing room rates which
gives you an idea of slow periods. They have several links, like FSE
schedule and regional road conditions.

I would go back, hear that Mr. Bardeen!

Hi-

   I stayed there about three times, on the free room offers I was constantly getting in the mail.
   I found the hotel service to be efficient and friendly. The rooms weren't full of fancy amenities, but I found them comfortable enough.Never used the garage, always went to the valet.
   I played a lot of 8/5 bonus there and never hit for anything decent.
   The food was absolutely godawful. The "champagne" at the "champagne brunch" tasted like white cider vinegar with bubbles shot into it. The cold slaw had a film over it (NOT Saran wrap) that looked like it had sat in the fridge overnight without a cover. The fried chicken looked like it had sat under a heat lamp at KFC for a week.I wouldn't let my cat touch the meat at that place, let alone recommend it to a human. I heard they've improved the buffet, but I have no intention of going there for myself.
   At least under the old management, they had a lot of promotions to get tourists in the door. I got tons of little geegaws to bring back to my family. I spent all my O'Lucky bucks on souvenirs, because I was sure not going to eat the food. I'm glad I emptied my account on the last trip.
    I'm back in Vegas next week, so I may check out the joint again.
