They might not care if they were caught. This is like an old episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Imagine what $300000 turns into at 10% compounded for 20 years. Well the answer is over 2 million. At the end of their sentence they return $300000 and they are annuitized with over 1.7 million!!
