I was wondering if anyone has been to Council Bluffs and Bluffs Run.
If so, any decent games there? What's it like? If you could compare
it to a KC casino, which one would it be? I'm considering making a
run up there sometime soon, but I'm wondering if it's worth my time.
Thanks in advance.
Council Bluffs?
Lucky Lucy and I have been to Council Bluffs several times. It is a good stopping place when we head out north or west in our RV -- Ameristar lets us park overnight in their parking lot.
Bluffs Run (owned by Harrah's) has NO Video Poker. I assume VP is your main interest since you posted to a VP group. Both were formerly owned by Harvey's.
Ameristar has some $1 JoB and a fairly large bank of 9/6 DDB Progressive. The DDB machines are very popular and always busy, especially on the weekends. Comps are good and easy at Ameristar. Our last visit was in May.
As I recall, Harrah's has no full pay VP machines in any configuration or denotation but it has been over a year since we last visited CB Harrah's. Your comp points earned in Kansas City or other Harrah's casinos are good here as well.
I just noticed in the VPFree database there is only one Iowa casino listed although there are several commercial (non-Indian) casinos in the state. We need to correct this. Perhaps if you go you can do a quick inventory of good machines in Council Bluffs.
Good Luck,
Rick
