Hi Everyone,
Just returned from a quick junket to Council Bluffs courtesy of
Harrahs StL. We stayed at Harrahs since the Horseshoe does not have a
hotel. The Harrahs property is nice and has a golf course attached.
The 360 resturant on the 12th floor is very good and has a great view.
The gaming is on a traditional boat in a moat. It has 2 1/2 floors,
so it is pretty tight/cramped. Unfortunately the only somewhat
playable VP was a $1 Triple bonus progressive with a very scrimpy .45%
meter. All other games were in the 97 to 99% variety.
The Horseshoe is a land based casino attached to the Bluffs Run dog
track (which also allows horse betting). The place is large and new
and very nice. They have a high limit tables room that is tucked away
in the back near the poker room (large) and dog track. The service in
the high limit was excellent and the room very pleasent. The
Steakhouse was very good. Try the free range chicken, it was great.
The VP was unplayable with the standard 97-99% paytables and no
progressives to even hope to get positive. So it was a nice trip, but
not really any reason to return.
Happy Royals

was not sure where exactly to post this, so I put it on the Harrahs
group and here.
