Saw a few posts yesterday as to the familiar faces taking up the nine
(9)available seats at Wynn's with the FPDW. Contrary to the impressions, seats were
available as late as 9:00a.m. I don't expect that today that you could arrive
that late and think a machine would be available.
That was when I arrived fully expecting that all seats would be taken. I was
on the bank with five machines and by the time I left after a very tiring six
(6) hour session, the five places had been played by 10 different persons.
During that same timeframe, no one elected to "wait" as you sometimes see
people doing to get on a Progressive.
In my case, I am NOT a strong dollar player and my total 2440 points were a
combination of 25c, 50c, $1 FPDW, 50c 9/6 JOB , and 50c 10/7 DB play. Everyone
has to realize that with the property and the play, even the recreational
player will stay a bit longer and perhaps play at a level above their normal
comfort zone.
If you want to try these machines, you must follow that adage, "the early
bird gets the worm". It might take setting the alarm and getting there at 2 or 3
a.m. which is no picnic.
Today, I was too tired to even attempt a return to Wynn's. I'm glad for the
VP community that this play exists and give full credit to those players that
plan and anticipate so they do get on the bank.
Imagine getting up at a very early hour, getting there and still no machines
are available. To most of us, that would be enough disappointment to not try
again. If the play survives and maybe after the novelty has worn off, a
regular VP recreational player might wander in and find a seat. Chances are very
unlikely for that. Over the years, I noticed that around noon or 1p.m., the
early birds (6a.m.) have put in their 5 - 6 hour session and are ready to leave.
A few seats then open up.
By the way, it is "freezing" on the 5 - seat bank. Come prepared !
