Correct strategy for deuces wild.

Hello group, thank you for your help.

I use WinPoker6, by Zamzone, for my tutorial. I find the program
very complete and accurate.

I am having a lot of difficulty deciding what two high cards
(TJQKA, of the same suit) to hold. The tutorial seems to give
different answers with different hands.

First situation, with NO deuces: I know that you never hold
the Ace. But the program is giving mixed advice about holding the
same suited pairs of the other high cards (TJQK). Is there a simple
"rule of thumb"?

Second situation, with ONE deuce: Again the tutorial is giving
mixed advice. Sometimes you keep the same suited ACE and sometime you
do not.

     What is up?

BTW, I am having a good time and good luck at Pala Casino in CA. In
the several weeks that I have been going there I have gotten quad
deuces three times for $1,000.00 each time, and one Royal Flush for
$4,351.00. (I play the progressive dollar machines next to the no
smoking room.)

Fun, I ride my Harley up there from Long Beach, CA, stay in a free
comp room, win money, and ride my Harley back the next day. Life is good.

Roy,

Are you talking about the exceptions to normal FPDW penalty strategy?

Check out the Wizard of Odds website
(http://wizardofodds.com/videopoker)for when you play A2 + another RF
flush card, when to hold K + another RF card with and without straight
penalties. The Wiz also has a FPDW strategies that you might want to
check out as well.

If you want to be absolutely perfect, then you need to know these
exceptions to normal FPDW penalty strategy RF and WRF holds, but they
add very little additional EV. In fact, you probably will lose more EV
per hour in slower play thinking about these exceptions than you will
gain by getting it perfectly correct.

Personally, I don't bother with the exceptions most of the time, but
there are a few A2 + RF card that have stuck with me that I do play.

Also, as others have noted, it is a strange pay table (one that is not
listed in vpFREE's pay table section). You probably want to triple
check it, but in the mean time it looks like it's working for you.
