As a born again capitalist, wont fault anybody on how they earn their
$, the fact that we know about it says something about the honesty of
some of the people involved.
Wynn sold a piece of the macau operation to an austrailian co for
$900 MILLION, news realeased within the last hour, per Wynn
investment relations , i am on the e-mail list.
Feista & the old reserve were known for loose VP & it did not seem to
hurt them,( Ameristar sold the reserve to raise $ for riverboats)
Station casinos did not totally destroy the games when they purchased
them.
Maloof still has some of them at the Palms ,Atlantis & Peppermill &
Silver Legacy in reno are going well
Some casinos such Plaza seem to be increasing number of machines, so
having FP VP is not always a reason to lose money.
Rumors were reported (LVRJ, IBD)that the Coast casinos were being
wooed by/ or being offered to Harrahs when the decision was made to
reduce then eliminate most of the FP VP to "punch up" cash flow
figures.
Boyd deal was made 6 months later as it allow the Gaughn family to
run the coast side of the company & included stock in Boyd gaming
instead of all cash, but Boyd gaming went on a comp cost reduction at
their casinos ,downtown & sams town , & wanted the same at the coast
casinos. That resulted in tighting up at the Orleans & the others
which also seems to include the cold shoulder Ms Scott & others have
reported recieving.
Some companys look at the big picture ,Palms, Stations, Wynn,
& some dont,Harrahs, MGM, & they want to make $ from
everybody ,from every machine & table ,& from every part of their
casino EVERY day!
So who's to be blamed for the reduction of FP VP?? the "experts" for
hustling the info to us masses? Us for learning & trying to win?? Us
for sharing the info with others that this is the BEST game to play?
"Pros" for burning out good plays? The casinos for being short sided
and /or stupid?
Seems there is enough blame to go around , BUT it dont really matter
whos at fault,we will adapt, move our play to where it will do us the
most good and most of us will continue to share info as where to
play, RENO-RENO hint hint.

P.S.
Thank you Mr Dancer for showing me my error in calculating the
playability of the Peppermill slot tourney.
