Comps

How are comps earned? Is it the length of play or the amount of coins bet?
Or is it a combination of both? I want to get as much out of my casino
experiences as I can. I make annual trips to Vegas and can begin monthly trips
to AC.

It's a total of 3 things. Time played, coins played , casino advantage on the machine played. Smaller casinos require less than the big fancy ones.
The more specific your questions are to this group, the more specific will be the replies.

These days, it's typically total coin-in during your trip (i.e. total
wagers). However, the mix of machines you play determines what
percent of your coin-in is returned in comps.

Reel slot players earn the highest comp rates, based upon the typical
8%-9% of wagers the house holds. The video poker machines with the
strongest paytables earn the weakest comp rates.

The actual comp rate for play varies significantly from casino to casino.
