"scratches". Being new to this I have never heard of "scratches nor was I
offered any at MSS. Should I asked or are they supposed to offer them?

Comps at MSS #2
MSS has an on going promotion. Hit any natural quads (also SF and I suppose
royal?) and get a scratch card. Scratch the card and win a mystery amount.
They seem to average a value of 3 bucks or so. You do need to get the
attention of a change person and ask while the hand is on your machine.

There are signs all over the casino - "Score With Four" - one shows the most recent winner of $5000 on a scratch card. They really aren't signs - more like small billboards. The promotion is advertised all over the exterior of the casino as well.
If you call the MSS and are put on hold you will get an advertisement for the promo as well - beats evevator music!
When you hit a natural four of a kind just turn your change light on and they will verify and give you a card. Average value is about $2.80 a card. Well over $100 for as much as you played.

You can also get a scratcher with a straight flush or a royal with no
wilds. Most scratchers are $2, $3, or $5, but I've gotten one for $20.
Nickel 4 of a kinds, straight flushes, and royals with no wilds get a
$1 scratcher.
Incidentally, four deuces in Deuces Wild also count as a four of a
kind with no wilds, as does a five of a kind with a single wild.
