Also, how do I know how many "points" are needed for a meal at a
certain restaurant? Just wondering...

A couple of examples-Harrahs Entertainment uses a banked comp account called
Reward Credits where a point per penny system is used. You can check RC
totals by inserting your card in a machine or stand-alone kiosk. Also, an on-line
access through the website.

Now downtown at the three Boyd properties you still have to beg. No obvious
banked amount you can check, just like the olden days. A boothling can easily
cut you a breakfast/lunch buffet comp after some play. But any comp for a
restaurant needs approval by a purple coated slot host, who depending on mood
can cut you a comp slip or tell you to go away and play some more.

Your slot card acts like a debit card at a Harrahs outfit. Just present it
and they swipe it. Most joints don't hit you for tax off your comp account.
Some joints even give you extra discounts for being old, say another 10% off.

Harrahs gift shops also let you swipe and go for the full amount. Other gift
shops let you use like $5/day off your comps for smokes or a jug of rum.

I try to patronize the debit card like casinos.
