Comp Cutbacks from Boyd properties for "smart" and/or "winning"

The marketing changes have occurred within the last 2 years, before

that, they looked at your action only.

I've noticed a significant cutback in offers as well. I used to get the
"three free nights a month" from the Fremont, but that disappeared
completely last year...the best I get there is the "20%" off deal. I had gotten
free nights from Sam's but no more. Oddly enough, I do still see free room
night offers from the Orleans. (I have trouble attributing any of this to a
change in my play...I put on a consistent number of points each
quarter...not a lot but enough to maintain at Sapphire...and I haven't hit a Royal in
years at a Boyd property.) These days, the only property downtown that I
get any conistent offers from is the Downtown Grand.

Cut-backs are the new norm in the casino world. They've been imploding the same way LV implodes their old casinos, except there aren't any new offerings in the horizon to make up for it. I'm a local in AC where I do most of my play at the Caesars' properties. The cut-backs initiated here have put a huge dent on VP players. Not only the table payouts have been reduced, but also the dollar-to-tier-point credit has increased up to 500% in some of the games.
I guess it's time to reconsider a different type of entertainment.

Sorry to be late to this discussion, but were you a rated player at the Stardust? I still get offers from Orleans where I was heartily encouraged by Boyd marketing to take my play after the implosion. They continue to arrive with little or no play from me there over the years.

As out of towner, at Sam's Town. I was getting 5 nights, Suite, Gold Card, cash back. Invited to several events. Same play, if not more and 6 months ago, I started getting 3, nights $25 food and $25 CB. As if I would fly cross county for that. It was as if they skipped the Silver Card stage and dropped me down to someone who just stopped in for an hour. Hell, I will give my play to local casinos and skip the heat of the desert.

Just out of curiosity, what games were you playing there, and were you winning ? I’m trying to figure out if they are just cutting offers over a wide spectrum, or do they just want to drop players that have been doing well.
