Hello Group:
I am not great at active posting, but I thought that
I would try do a little.
We are coming to Laughlin for Willie Nelson on the 25th.
My wife received the offer from Harrahs. I did DIAD for
her last December and that is about it. I mean no other
activity other than a little food and visits to their
Diamond Lounge and always on her card. They have never
seen my card swiped in their casino in over a year.
My wife, Marjean, still does get offers that I do not.
I have a Harrahs 7*, but Laughlin has gotten none of my
play since they decimated their VP options. For a while
we all know that they misses a couple of machines. Unless
someone can tell me different, I think they have now
caught the ones they first missed. There is a 9/5 Super
Times JoB at a low denomination, but that is the best
that I know of.
I told the General Manager of my disinterest in their
video poker options and that did not seem to phase him.
He responded that he was sorry and "If you wish to
discuss personally with me any of these issues or any
other issues that I may be able to respond to, feel free
to cal me directly at ....". Well there has been no follow
up contact by either party!
Do a group of us want to arrange a group meeting with him
to express our dissatisfaction with the action they took?
Like that would do any good! I think their response was
to take me off any mailing list that is generated in
Laughlin. Since Marjean gets most offers, and the fact
that I do not want to play their "short pay" machines,
nobody is too upset.
I do receive Harrahs Laughlin offers that appear to come
from someplace other than Laughlin. I get rooms, food,
buses and flights, etc. However nothing specific to Laughlin
shows, gits or tournaments, etc.
Anyway, Marjean got the offer and is a Willie Nelson fan.
She asked for the offer about 2 weeks ago and was told the
show was sold out. I am sure it was not, but she is quite
low in the pecking order and her type of seats were probably
gone. At least that is my suspicion. I know for the recent
Don McLean show out seats were in the last row!
I knew she really wanted to go. Since I am constantly
getting offers from my host at Aquarius I just happened
to bring up the idea that we might come to Laughlin for
Willie Nelson. My personal preference would be to stay
at the Aquarius, but she wants the Willie Nelson concert.
Now I had a second option that might have worked. I could
have try to use my 7* influence to get the tickets that
were denied to my DIAD spouse. However, just a mention of
the concert brought the response that the Aquarius would
be very happy to comp me tickets to the "claimed sold out"
concert if I wanted to stay there. Obviously this is a "no
brainer" and thus we will be coming to Laughlin later today.
These little twists are not big or new news to most of
you. I just want to post some activity to this group since
Bluestreak is trying so hard to do his share and I thought
this might be a little interesting.
Thanks,
Bob
