Comfort & Design of machines

For me, the flat top design is the most
comfortable to play but I guess their
larger footprint does not make it a
favorite of the casino.

The vertical designed ones also many
times have bright lights shining on them
and in some casinos it is an eye strain
to see the cards properly. A solution
is not have spotlights but more even
lighting or to have non glare glass.
I have made these suggestions to deaf
ears.

Also, some casinos seem to go out of
their way to make seating uncomfortable
by having seats so low one has to reach
upward and also peer up, etc.

Am I alone in these views?

No you are not. I have the same problem. the problem
is more acute with flashing lights distracting you
into mistakes. I have tried to sunglasses and etc, but
now avoid such machines. I have played for almost
twenty years and the latest changes have waned my
interest in VP. Sometimes it is preferable to sit at
the poker table at a slower game and be rewarded with
positive results.

nope....sometimes machines are so uncomfortable you can barely play
them!
I was at Agua Caliente and the .25/DWDB progressive was up to $2900 so
I pounded away on it for 4+ hrs and all I ended up with was as supreme
back ache...they have the chairs on those fixed rails and they are too
far away from the machines so you end up sitting up too straight with
your arms outstreched.....UGH!!

With all the bean counting, analytics, and psychological theory that
goes into the layout of a casino (color or the rug, height of the
ceiling, temperature, etc.) you'd think they would pay attention to a
simple thing like comfortable seating position!

A simple thing like being able to move the chair (chairs not fixed to
the game base) can make a big difference.

Maybe some of the casino consultants who post here could take this
tidbit back to the casinos for us. "Hello! We'll sit and play LONGER
if we're COMFORTABLE!"
