Colusa casino is located off highway 45 (10 miles from I-5) and is
expanding again following the expansion spree of nearby casinos. I
went there memorial day and what a zoo. Going north on I-5, get off
at Williams, take the Clear Lake exit, and go right on route 20
through Colusa, and go north north for 3 miles on Highway 45. Going
south on I-5, then I would recommend the Maxwell exit and take the ?
road to highway 45 and go south 1 to 2 mile(s).
Colusa has 750 slot machines and the selection of VP is horrible.
For example, Pot of Gold offer $0.25 progressive RF with 6/5 JOB
where quads pay 15 for 1 (yikes!) Personally, all the progressive
video-poker games on POG are short-pay. There are other VP
machines, but the pay tables have been cut from 2 year ago. For
example, Colusa used to have a multi-denomination 9/6 JOB vp
machines w/ progressive RF, where a flush triggered a free keno
game resulting in ev of 100.6% assume 800 for 1 for the RF and that
game is gone.
Colusa offers many mailers and instant rewards program (must play
through, no cash back). Every 650 dollars of action equals one comp
dollar or 15.38 basis points (0.1538%) good for restuarants and
casino "stuff" from the gift shop. Again, no cash back except via
conversion of instant rewards program (aka bounce back welfare
checks). I have no idea of the relationship between avg trip action
and these weekly welfare checks so please don't ask. To be fair,
Colusa offers numerous promotions such as ladies night, senior
night, birthday bash, etc.
Will check back in 3 months.
My ratings would be (1-10 scale where a "10" is I'm parked there
24/7, a "7" is on my playlist, and a "5" is average):
VP Game inventory: 3
Comp dollars*: 6
Cash Back: 1
Service: YMMV, but safe to say a 5.
Promotions**: 7
TiTo: Yes
Other Info: 1 restuarant with okay food, below-average buffet, but
has excellent late night specials, and service is YMMV.
* Based on three adjustments: (1) Trippple points on Wednesdays,
which increases comps to 46.15 basis points and (2) you can work the
system and (3) live nearby within 10 minute drive.
** Very strong for this area, as the casino caters to locals.
