Cold machines

I enjoy reading this board and an occasional trip to play VP.
I'll offer this observation as an unsophisticated player and
career computer analysis. Everyone acknowledges problems with data
sent to accumulate points from a players cards to a computer.
You go to the players club and straighten it out. By the same token
if a VP machine begins to malfunction and pays to many hands it will
be removed from service immediately.

What happens when a VP machine malfunctions and pays to few hands?
Is this going to draw the attention of the casino and be removed
immediately? Just a thought.

You are making an invalid assumption. The machine cannot malfunction to pay too many hands or too few. Neither can a slot.
