Coin Redemption

Call Nevada State Bank. A year or two ago they had a cute commercial
about free coin redemption where a guy had a dump truck full of
coins, and the bank president challenged him to a drag race with his
Brinks truck after the coins were dumped.

There are no TD banks on west coast and I believe they now require u to be an account holder for free coin counting.

Okay, I think enough space has been used for this topic. Take the dang coins to a CoinStar machine and get it over with!

Sorry for jumping in late here but it really pisses me off that you cant
get coins counted for free at a bank or somewhere else. I save my
change every day and once a year cash it in. I usually end up with $400
to $500 or so. There is no way I am giving coinstar $50 to cash my
change. I would rather pay a kid to count it

Some, but not all, Coinstar machines offer a "free" option - 100% of your money is returned to you in the form of a gift card (actually a paper receipt with a code number) to a retail or online outlet of your choice. There are several retail options to choose from, and different machines might have different options (Amazon is usually included). You're not required to spend the entire amount in one purchase; the code works just like a gift card.

There has been a lot of discussion on this subject, but the thread has lost me in its wanderings. Does someone have a list of specific Las Vegas Coinstar locations that offer a no-fee option when you choose a “gift card” and what gift cards are offered. I think some offer Albertson gift cards, but that is not a good option for us – the company is in severe financial trouble and I’m trying to use up the cards I already have for them before they go bankrupt. (Their prices are so high we don’t shop there unless they have something we need on sale.)

the Coinstar website has a machine locator, and for each machine listed you can see the options provided.

I always just get an Amazon.com gift certificate myself.

in general you can get a gift card for the store whose machine you are using

and I see Starbucks is one

The best use of coinstar is its extensive coins for charity program. Find a CS location and donate your change to a bona fide charity.

Why dont people just go to one of the casinos in town that still have coin machines and cash them there? That's what I do with my change.

Also, to use up your existing Albertson gift card balances you should be able to use the balances to purchase gift cards for other places you spend money: gas stations, Dunkin donuts, home depot....

Got an email from Boulder Station listing some new slots they've installed, along with new $.50 to $2 spin poker, spin poker deluxe, ultimate x poker, multi-strike deluxe "and more." Then it says "looser pay tables on all Game King video poker and poker progressives".

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

That's interesting. Has there been any "loosening" of any progressives? Would be nice to see some 9-6 JoB progressives.

There used to be a triple play NSU progressive there, I think they took it out or downgraded it several years ago. I just remember it because I hit a royal on it over $1200 and I think it was my first W2G ever. I always liked Boulder Station. Pretty casino, and it seems big too.
