Coin-In Milestone for Palms, Hard Rock and Harrah's?

Dear All,

First off, I have a lot of respect and admiration for community information sharing, so it's very nice to see this alternative to VP Homepage. Great stuff and great people.

Just wondering if anyone knows the appropriate milestones for achieving VIP status with the following casinos:

Palms. From what I understand, Hot Shot and Big Shot cards are based on a bell curve. Any estimates on the required coin-in to get each card?

Hard Rock. Do the bounce-back checks and perks simply scale based on your amount of play, or is there a milestone that triggers a new level of rewards?

Harrah's. Their web site says you need 10,000 reward credits to get a Diamond card. Anyone what that translates into for coin-in? And if you earned enough credits this month, would you have to wait until next January to get your Diamond status, or is that just when it expires if you don't continue to earn points?

With Harrah's, the amount of coin-in to receive a reward credit also varies by which casino as well as the machine you're playing. You can earn the credits faster in Laughlin than in Vegas, for example.

I believe you must be correct about Laughlin. ML and I had quit
playing at Harrah's altogether after their cashback situation became
so horrible with the implementation of the Total Rewards program.
Then, a local junket outfit with whom we have a long history talked us
into a four day/three night junket to Harrah's Laughlin in June 2001.
Since we were traveling to/from Kentucky, we actually had a little
less than three days playing time. Several months after the trip, we
were surprised to find in the mail a Diamond card for me and a
Platinum for ML. Pretty easy, seems to me.

Harrah's is notorious for "Don't ask and Don't tell. " Just try to
find out from them sometime how many points you have. You will get a
different answer if you ask 3 different people.
Not to mention - I don't know of any Harrah's that has good VP..

True, that Harrah's seems to avoid any straightforward answers or
policies. On the good side, most of their machines tell you exactly
how many points you have, so it's fairly easy to check the CB rate at
each location.

Once you obtain the 10000 points, your Diamond status goes into
effect on the NEXT trip.
