COD variations of the theme

There was a recent discussion about Card of the Day (COD) promos that
sort of got lost by not changing the subject line. I will add my
experiences.

In Vegas, the Hacienda has an ongoing COD, actually two cards are
designated daily and posted in mid-casino. A 40 coin bonus for
quarters and 20 coins for higher denominations.

Down in Laughlin are several CODs, some temporary.

Golden Nugget has a 40 coin bonus on Fridays, probably thru
December. Card is posted by the slot club.

The Riverside has a promo. You used to get a roll of like coin, now
you get a drawing ticket for the daily $100 drawing at 6pm. Check
the monthly calendar. Some days suited blackjacks gets tickets, some
it is slot or keno jackpots.

Ramada Express has a program where four sevens paid (hand pay)
triple. A 2x3 inch orange placard glued to the machine let you know
what games where eligible. You can see where they used to be on some
games. Bonus Poker 8/5 is the best game now.

The most unique and strongest COD program has to be at the River
Palms. Swipe your card at the kiosk in the designated Winners Wharf
VP lounge for you own personal COD, good for 24 hours or until you
hit it. The payoff is 100 coins or double the quad payoff if you
have a facecard kicker. Since you are playing fullpay IGT games to
begin with...a fine promotion.

Hit your COD, get a handpay and the attendent even swipes your card
for you for a new COD ticket. So this can add .3-1.3% to the ER. So
far, the new owners have not screwed this one up.

BS

The Cannery also has one and I believe Slots A Fun does too.

Thanks. This really makes the development and implementation of optimum play very complicated.

Not really.

At River Palms, the payoff is doubled or 100 coins. I doubt if there
are any significant strategy changes based upon the COD bonus. Just
pick the best game that fits your goal (max ER is one).

You can play JB, Bonus, DB (.25 only), DDB or the rare WHA (99.57%).

As a first order approximation, having a COD in facecards means 100
coin bonus 10/12 times, doubled 2/12 times.

Having an Ace-Ten COD means 100 coins 9/12 times, doubled 3/12 times.

Playing WHA with an Ace COD, means 3/4 of the time a 100 coin bonus
or a 1200 coin bonus 25%. (This is diminished somewhat because of
tossing of facecards).

This approximation is good enough for me, but I think you can define
this WHA version (even in WinPoker) and get optimum strategy and
stats.
