I have had conversations with a club manager and a host at Coast west
side casinos. There is a growing animosity toward players who they
feel are NOT customers, and only play promotions and when multiple
points are available. At one casino they dropped a promotions from
mailers because they felt a minute percentage of players beat them to
death. The slowdown of machine was a direct result of players coming
only or mainly on multiple point days and pounding the advantage
machines at maximum speed. The $2 machine are getting great scrutiny
also. The Gold card benefits were a casualty to Gold Carder's berating
Hosts.
I want to make it clear I am not giving an opinion just stating what is
happening and why. I also don't think that the trend is over by any
means at the Coast properties. To/remember the saying " If you build
they will come". Well "If you beat them up they may go".
