Closure of Harrah's Lake Charles

Harrah's Lake Charles has the following information posted on their
homepage.

Harrah's Lake Charles, Grand Casino Biloxi and Grand Casino Gulfport are
closed indefinitely due to hurricane damage.

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Lake Charles area, please
contact (888) 782-9525 to book a room at the Lakefront Hotel (at the
former Harrah's Lake Charles location). Please note this is a standalone
hotel and there is no casino.

The gaming license was valuable enough that the governor went to prison
over it. Therefore, I have to believe that something will happen to the
license other than just let it lie fallow. This particular Harrah's had
some pretty good VP. Hate to see it go.

Information I have is Harrah's has already sold the Grand Casino Gulfport (the hotel was the only thing left) to the casino that was next door to it (can't remember the name). Latest news is that they plan to build a super resort and casino in Biloxi.

I hear that Harrah's Lake Charles will probably be completely re-
built so they can compete with L'Auberge. May take two years or
more and may be in a different location in Lake Charles.
