Wow ...
35% cite software
25% sheer motivation
14% books
... and a mere 10% internet groups
(another 14% went with strategy cards, ouija boards, etc.
I marvel that short of the internet groups that anyone could
proficiently find their way around a casino, much less the other
resources noted.
Internet groups first led me to the various software tutors and then
helped me use them to their greatest advantage ... even the best tutor
doesn't lead you by the hand in accessing its strongest features.
I don't know how in the hell one grasps how to take advantage of the
best play opportunities in the casino, both machines and promotions.
Books offer good info, but nothing that holds a candle to what's
offered up here and in other groups. Take all the other player
resources combined and they only add up to 25% of the knowledge that
I've pulled away from these groups directly, not to mention from email
and in person contact with members whose friendship I've gained via
the groups.
I've only scratched the surface. I'm deeply indebted to the current
and original (vpFae) moderators of this group, as well as to Skip
Hughes and the moderator of the AC vp group (Siona). I can safely
blame ... er, attribute ... them with my immense fascination and
satisfaction with the game.

There was only one poll, with two questions, but I broke the
results into two polls for clarity.
Now I see that I put one answer into the wrong poll:
"Wanted a good way to gamble in a casino with an advantage,
and earn comps. "
I've moved it to the other poll and recomputed:

My bad.
