Class III Now at Wind Creek Casino in Alabama?

Someone told me that the Wind Creek Casino, a Native American casino in Altmore Alabama, now has six video poker machines that appear to be Class III. They are 5c/10c/25c 3/5 plays with autohold that can be changed. There's no genie or match card that changes your holds and the deal/draw appear to be random. They look like regular IGT/Action Gaming multiline machines according to the screen shot I saw.

If anyone can confirm that these machines are Class III, I will ask that this casino be added to the vpFREE2.com database.

Thanks!

The head butting between Alabama and the Feds may have created an opening for the Poarch Band to install "real" VP machines. Maybe the six machines are part of a poker game that's been going on for awhile?

The Poarch Band hasn't entered into a state compact with Alabama that would authorize them to offer gaming other than the bingo-compliant Class II equipment permitted under the NIGC. (And, clearly aren't on a path to do so.)

If Wind Creek has installed a handful of Class III vp machines, then they're potentially arming Alabama to renew it's assault on Poarch gaming.

Looks to me like they are calling the state's bluff and with the support of the NIGC. Picture state troopers showing up and being greeted by Fed special agents.

Memories of George Wallace blocking the door at the Univ. of Alabama.

Here in Massachusetts, the Wampanoag Tribe agreed to a 21% state cut on their proposed casino resort in the City of Taunton and Feds said that was too much. It's now down to 17% awaiting the high sign from the Feds.

The deal is based on the Wampanoag's having a monopoly on gambling in the southeastern part of the state. Said on the news this morning if the deal doesn't happen the tribe will build the joint and the state will get nada.

The Creeks, huh? There's not a finer outfit I'd like to fleece. If they ever move to Class III I think I'll come calling. Of course, if I don't find anything to play I'll have to take a walk. But if I find any leaks in their boat I'll sink 'em. I'll hammer them right to their knees.

During the War of 1812 the British and Spanish armed the Creeks through the Port of Pensacola. In the summer of 1813 strong rumors of an impending Indian attack were floating around southwestern Alabama. The settlers, afraid for their lives, poured into Fort Mims for protection. The problem with the fort is it was poorly defended. The commanding officer, Major Daniel Beasley, was a bonehead who discounted not only the rumors but several sightings of "painted warriors" in the area. The door to the fort hadn't been closed for so long that drifting sands prevented it's closing.

On the 30th of August 1813, 1000 Creek Warriors from the Red Stick faction came calling. The ensuing slaughter is recorded as the biggest massacre in the history of the United States. Of the 550 people inside the fort, only 36 survived. One of the women killed inside that fort that day, Penelope Farr Depriest, is one of my 4th great-grandmothers.

I'm headed south on I-65 this morning and decided, at Atmore, that a restroom break wouldn't hurt ...

Did your friend happen to mention anything about the prominent "bingo card" on these IGT screens? (would have thought it would be evident in the screen shot you saw)

At any rate, didn't test play. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume Class III was mistakenly installed for a couple of days.
