Civil assassins. Completely XVP.

I am usually a fan of chief's witty, sarcastic commentary, but this one
is a prime example of an uncivil, uncalled for remark.

Uncivil? Sure!
Uncalled for? No way!

Just to set the record straight, the object of this fairly
innocuous remark just posted this witticism:

"but the first one I'd take out is that tyrannical dictator in Washington who
wasn't even elected but wants to take away all our civil rights.:-)"

Although this has been described as "light hearted" by
another member, since the comment followed another
post wherein that writer described "taking out" Saddam
Hussein as part of a military action, there is no possible
interpretation of these remarks other than the writer is
stating that she would like to assassinate George Bush.

This writer has also frequently bragged about her
antagonistic and confrontational demeanor. So civility
isn't a big part of her arsenal either.

Did she mean her comments literally? I'm going to
do everything I can to give her the opportunity to
explain that to the appropriate authorities. Even joking
about assassinating the President is a crime. Even in
New Jersey. I'm willing to spend some time circulating
her post to Yahoo administration, the Treasury Dept.
and the new Homeland Security Department. And to
promote civility, I will note her preference for
a nonsmoking cellmate.
