Circus and Atlantis

This weekend I spent a day at Circus, which had been a favorite of
mine, and was disappointed to see that the Multi-strike Super double
bonus machines near bottom of escaltors had been downgraded. And in the
2nd floor, the Super Aces also downgraded. As far as I could tell, the
best available is now 9/6 JOB (near registration, for instance). Anyone
know of anything better left?

I can confirm that full pay quarter Jokers Wild at Silver Legacy still
there near Keno.

At Atlantis, can confirm 10/7 double bonus back at waterfall bar. Also,
played a little 9/6 JOB STP Multi-strike near high limit. Just for
fun... this is a game where a "perfect" strategy would be horrendously
complicated, huh? Like what to do if you get a multiplier on the bottom
line, do you play MS strategy or normal JOB? And I don't know what the
EV is, since I'm not sure how they've tinkered with the free rides and
multipliers.

Was at the SL this weekend also. Headed over to CC to play JOB STP
(9-6) which is now 9-5 .1, .2, .5, .10 and .25 and STP, 50 Play and
100 Play were also downgraded to 9-5. Spent the weekend unsuccessfully
chasing the 101% level JOB .25 progressive by the poker room at the
Eldo. By the way this bank of machines has NSUD in .25, .50 and 1:00
with up to 20 credit bets. Spent the rest of the weekend playing 15-8
LD upstairs out front of the Brew Bros. Can confirm $20 in equals a
point and 10pts = 1 comp dollar.

huh, interesting. my initial analysis suggests that if you know MS JoB
strategy, then you should generally use the 4x strategy for any
multiplier below the top line. exceptions are 2x multiplier on the
bottom line (use the 2x strategy), and 4-5x multiplier on the
next-to-top line (use normal JoB strategy).

that'd get you pretty close, but yeah, you'd need to have a dozen
different strategies (rather than the four for straight MS) if you
wanted absolute perfection. it's as if instead of 1x, 2x, 4x, you also
needed to know 0.8x, 2.5x, 10.7x...

And I don't know what the EV is, since I'm not sure how they've tinkered
with the free rides and multipliers.

if it's the same as the version at videopoker.com, the free ride
frequency is very slightly reduced on the bottom line and cut by about
5% on the middle two lines when you're playing the bonus bet. not a
huge change.

however it has absolutely no information about multiplier frequency
and distribution. the max multiplier is now 5x - if they removed the
8x and 10x but left the multiplier frequency and distribution
otherwise unchanged, then the bonus bet is horribly -EV. like -17%.
i'd have to imagine they raised the multiplier frequency, but i see no
way of finding out what the new frequency is. annoying.

next time i'm at atlantis i'll poke at the actual machine and see if
it's less enigmatic.

cheers,

five
