Cincy Horseshoe/Ky. Derby Trip Report

Hi Gang:

Hedy and I had a wonderful time on our 3-day trip to Horseshoe Cincinnati, which included a trip to the Kentucky Derby last Saturday. We didn’t have the winner at Churchill Downs but made a big score in the casino!

You can read all about it in my latest trip report on my web site. You can visit the site www.tomthebombpicks.com and click on the Trip Reports Page … or use the link below to access it.

Enjoy!

Regards,

Coach,

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Cincinnati and the Derby. You missed out on the full pay 9/6 Jacks and NSUD (HL only) that were downgraded last year. I can understand the aversion to DDB with high variance, but for future reference note Cincinnati does have 9/6 Jacks with a 500 per coin Royal in HL (it is listed in VP Free 2 data base). Advantage of that pay table is you suffer no penalty for short coin play as full 5 coin Royal only pays 2500 coins. So while fortune smiled on you with 7/5 BP Royal, you are much better off long term playing 2 coins on the $5 Jacks as you would get both better EV and lower variance. Perhaps people overlook that game since it is a $5 machine and don’t think to play it short coin, but it is an excellent option even for the $1 and $2 player if you play the appropriate number of coins.

PS For any visitors to Cincinnati who are also 7 Stars it is worth a trip up I-75 to exit 29 in Monroe to visit Miami Valley Gaming. You will get a status match and more importantly $300 in promo play for your 7 Star card. I certainly don’t advocate playing beyond the $300, but easy money for a half hour drive if you are already at Cincinnati HS. Diamond card gets $100.

Most non-Harrah’s casinos will give you a top card and freeplay bonus if you flash a 7 Stars card. The 7 Stars card is probably
worth more in non-Harrah’s casinos than in Harrah’s casinos. In addition to just finding them on the casino floor, you can also buy them
on Ebay:
