I thought it might be nice to provide a post that gave VP Inventory
details on the four "Cincinnati Area" casinos, just in case someone
was stuck out this way and in need of a VP fix.
There are a few updates here for the casino database.
There are four casinos within two hours of Cincinnati. I'll start
with the closest:
Argosy Lawrenceburg
This is about 30 minutes from Cincy. It is by the far the busiest,
but also has the weakest VP. The only machines they have that are
even remotely playable are a bank of (10) $1 9/6 JOB progressives.
During the week these machines are often positive. Cash back is
0.25%, but I have never seen any multi-point promotions. There is
nothing for the 25c or 5c player. Also, Argosy charges for entry
during the weekend ($3 - $5). Personally this reason alone keeps me
away (it's not a lot of money true, but it's the princible of the
matter).
Grand Victoria Rising Sun
15 minutes further away in Grand Vic. They have the best mid/high
roller games in town. They have (12) $1 3-play machines which have
9/6 JOB and NSUD. 7 of these machines also have 8/5 Super Aces.
Cash back is only 0.25% but they have x3 points every Wednesday,
making these games very playable. They also have (2) $5 3-Play
machines which have NSUD, 9/6 JOB and 8/5 Super Aces. The 25c
player has a couple of 9/7 DB machines scattered around and one 3-
Play 9/7 DB on the top floor.
Belterra Casino
Another 30 minutes further away in Belterra. This is the nicest
casino in the area, almost classy. They have the best rooms by
miles as well. They also have the best low/mid roller VP. There
are (6) 25c machines with 8/5 BP and Aces Bonus. There are also (2)
50c machines with 8/5 BP and Aces Bonus. They have (4) 5c 10-Play
machines with 8/5 BP and 8/5 Super Aces. Also available are (2) 25c
9/6 JOB Multi-Strike machines. Cash Back is only 0.25% but they
have x3 points every Tuesday and Wednesday and x2 points every
Saturday in March. On multi-point days the 5c 10 Play SA is a
really good game for us low/mid rollers.
Caesars Indiana
Caesars in very close to Louisville which is a good 2 hours from
Cincy. This casino has the best atrium, shop, restaurant area and
the worst casino area. A very large majority of machines are under
repair, have bad screens or the bill selector doesn't work. It
really is hard to believe that a "Caesars" casino could be so run-
down (Caesars LV is one of our favorite Strip casinos). They have
$1 and 25c Pickem as well as 25c 2-Pair Jokers, 25c NSUD and 9/6 JOB
progressives. Cash back is a confirmed 0.11% but they do mail out
triple point vouchers.
Well that it's really, not as good as Vegas or Gulfport but, in my
opinion it's better than Tunica (I recently visited Tunica for work
and had a chance to check it out. I'll have an update report coming
soon).
One last thing, after over $100,000 in coin-in I hit my first $1,000
royal two weeks ago at Caesars Las Vegas. What a relief! Then the
next day at the LV Hilton I hit two more! 6 months with no royals
then 3 in 2 days. What a weird, frustrating, wonderful game VP is.
