Hi. There is a popular bank of V.P.progressive nickel machines at Sam's
Town. They are five coin machines. You can choose one of four short-pay
games to play for the progressive. The games are: 6-5 BP, 9-6 DBP, 6-5
DDBP, and 15-10-4 DW. The progressive sometimes reaches $350 t0 $400and
resets around $200.. So, I have three questions. How high does the
progressive have to be to turn these games positive? Using regular
strategy which of the four games would be the best one to play to win
the progressive? and Is any one game significantly better to use than
the others? Thanks Dick McK.

You almost need the full paytable when looking at short pay. The Bonus 6/5
and would be about a base of 96%. DDB a bit better.

But you can't tell about DB, is it 9/6/5 or 9/6/4? The 15/10 Deuces sounds
promising but what is the paytable? Is it just one notch worse than NSUD?
Probably not. They mess with Deuces in almost every spot in the paytable.

A rough estimate for royals is 2% for 4000 coins.
