checking out early

I have a 2 night free room offer but will not be able to stay past 5pm
on the 2nd day. I'd like to get some opinions on whether I should
check out in the late morning and only use 1 night or stay on and
possibly be penalized for checking out early. I would like to keep
the room until 5pm for washing, brushing teeth, possible short nap,
etc. I do plan on gambling heavier than usual the 2nd day to make up
for the abbreviated day.

I've never been penalized for checking out early, however, YMMV. If it were me, I'd check out when I want to vacate the room.

George, I've "quick checked out" early plenty of times. By quick check I mean - just split. As long as you don't owe them any money ( use comp points to pay for stuff , instead of charging to the room ) , the maid will report your room as being vacant and you will be auto-checked out. In general, using only 1 day of a 2 ( marketing) day offer , does NOT credit your account with an extra day - so no point checking out early, especially since there is a big difference ( good extended vacation feeling ) psychologically with checking out at 11AM & leaving the casino at 6PM, versus checking out at 6PM. Many offers I get state - Minimum X day stay required to get $100 free play, shopping spree , etc. I usually ask , what is the minumum stay to get the offer. I've had them agree on the phone ( and take their name as proof ) that you only needed 2 days on a 3 day stated offer - but ask. Generally speaking again, you don't get much comps for 1 day , since casinos consider that insufficient time for the "drain" to take hold and make money off of you.

I don't know about all Hotel/Casinos, but I have done short stays at Stardust, and El Cortez on marketing offers and have received all the comps
that were attached to the offer.

As has already been said Always ask when booking and you shouldn't have a problem.

Regards
A.P.

I can't even remember the last tine I have actually checked out of a hotel.
I just leave when it's time to go. The maid will check you out when she does
the room. So far, never had a problem.
