There was a poker tournament at the Venetian in which the players had problems with an outside company that was sponsoring it.
There was also a furor a year or two ago - WSOP winner Chris Ferguson organized and sponsored a poker tournament at a Mississippi casino, then failed to deliver on non-cash prizes which had been promised (trip for 2 to the Playboy mansion).
One would think that one is protected if a major casino holds a poker tournament on its premises, but that is not necessarily the case when an outside company is involved.
