"Cheat Sheets"
I can tell you a funny anecdote. I was at the Borgata about a year ago, and they had these full pay joker ( with a strange pay schedule ) machines that were not advertised anywhere. These 3 people in a row ( obviously advantage player newbies) - each had 8 1/2 by 11 inch strategy sheets out in the open and some resting on the chair next to them, or on the coin return slot. I had a perfect strategy "card" myself about 2x 3 inches that fit and sat most of the time in my front pocket. I pointed out to these folks that they should re-design their sheets and be a little more discreet.

Although I use Skip's cards, I also make my own with Excel. This is
a bit tedious but it has advantages:
- Making the card yourself helps you learn the strategy
- You can pick the fonts/colors you like
- You can add little notes or symbols that help you remember
important points. Example: On my DB 9/7p card I use boldface and
[bracket symbols] around any line that only applies when the jackpot
is over the 100% payout point.
- In Excel, you can scale the card to any size you want. I generally
make the card small enough that a typical square cocktail napkin will
cover it (I like playing at the bar while watching TV).

game directory pages in the vpFREE LV Cross Directory
and on the Wizard of Odds web site.
I use charts that I've simplified and customized in a
format that works for me.

I assume everyone that has a copy of the FVP software knows you can make a strategy chart from there for almost any game and print out. Also Tomski's VPSM allows you that same convenience.

I have always tried for the inside straight. However, yesterday,
I was watching another person play. He was throwing them away. I
have observed other players doing the same. What is the correct play?
You don't want to base your VP strategy on what you see other players
hold, since at least 99% of the other players don't know what the
heck they are doing. I always remember the guy who was playing JOB
next to my wife and asked her why she held low pairs all the time?
Since the machine said "Jacks or Better" he never held a pair below
jacks!!! I wonder how much money he had lost over time just due to
this one basic playing error.
Hold the inside straight (not ace low) if there's nothing better.
Note: I used to play a lot of 50 play NSUD, and inside straights are
about the most aggravating hand to get on these machines. They show
up fairly frequently, and they are sure losers in 50 play mode, since
you'll never get enough straights to make up for the 250 coin initial
bet (8 or 9 straights out of 50 is typical).
