Charlie's East Lowers Point Acc for Jokers; Removes 2 Jkrs

1) ACE removed two of the joker machines this morning and replaced
them with Men in Black slots. (This had been openly discussed by
floor personel for some time ... but had been delayed several times
this past month). The two machines are supposed to eventually be
placed elsewhere on the floor ... time will tell if this will happen.

(2) The six remaining full pay jokers (4000 royal) have had their
points REDUCED AGAIN. Now $125 in gets only 70 points -- this is down
from the recent 100 points for $125 coin in.

(3) The above six machines were moved last month from the area by
the Philly Steak deli to an area by the sports book. But (and I'm
not trying to start any debates here ... only warn those bothered by
smoke) in the area where they are now, any smoke from adjacent banks
is pulled across these joker machines by the great (!) air handling
system at ACE.

It seems that the casinos in general are afraid of FPJW to an even
greater extent than FPDW. This is stupid (i.e, typical), since the
games have virtually the same EV. In the El Cortez (still
undoubtedly the world capital of 20/7 Joker), you suffer from "point
strangulation" as points post at roughly 1/3 the rate of other
machines (and they will tell you so if you ask). The Palms is the
only place I know with FPJW that doesn't scrunch your points.

I could SWEAR that the manglement at ACW and ACE assiduously chart
the most uncomfortable locations in the casino (perhaps by
documenting all the vomiting and fainting) and then stick the
fullpay machines there. At ACW, before they disappeared, the biggest
bank of FPDW was positioned directly under a bank of can lights, and
since they were slant-tops, the effect was to blind anyone playing
them. The FPJW bank was in a corner near an escalator; if anyone
smoked in that small area, the ventilation system DROVE IT toward
the Joker machines (just in the way you describe the ACE machines'
location).

Of course, we who play fullpay machines DESERVE to be tortured, for
trying to extract $7/hr from the casinos.....

I think you need to re-check your facts on this statement. I've
played the El Cortez Jokers every month for the past year at
quarters, half-dollars and dollars (even those machines you reported
once as being gone) and they have consistently recorded one point per
dollar played. It isn't even necessary to "ask" as the points record
as you play. I put in $5 and 5 points are added to the total. It's
that simple. Now, I grant you that I haven't played there for the
last two weeks but I'll be surprised if I go back and find things any
different.

that simple. Now, I grant you that I haven't played there for the
last two weeks but I'll be surprised if I go back and find things

any

different.

Personally, I haven't been there in a month, but at the time, there
were even little red placards affixed to the machines that warned
that points accumulated differently (i.e., more slowly). I had on
several occasions (because it had seemed that I was accumulating
points at a very slow pace relative to my play) asked the slot
floormen what was wrong with my point accumulation, and they
said, "oh, you're playing fullpay Joker", and told me that I would
get less points if I was playing a 20/7 Joker game. The 1/3 figure
comes from a slot club boothling (the short and very wide lady who's
ALWAYS there, it seems).

If they've stopped doing this, it would be very nice as the slot
club bennies at face value put this play over 101%.

The $1 machines that I reported as being "gone": they are still
there, but what's "gone" is the 20/7 Joker program, now replaced
with 17/7. The 10/7/80 DB that was in those machines disappeared as
well.

I only know of the two $1 20/7 in the high limit area, and perhaps
one or two in the usual area near Roberta's. Those ones in
particular seem to get fiddled with a lot.

I would probably play more there, but on a busy night you can't get
on the .50 or the $1 Joker, and the seats on those machines have
been endorsed by the Spanish Inquisition. The ventilation system
ensures that you get several opportunities to breathe everyone's
smoke, Still, a very rare 101% play.....
