changing the win % from a 6 coin machine into a useful figure for a 5 coin

can some tell me how to convert a win % for a 6 coin wheel poker game
into a meaningful figure in a 5 coin machine?

i ran the pay table numbers on wheel bonus poker for atlantic city
using vpw. the win % at 5 coins is 114.016%. this % is based on
playing 5 coins but in reality you are wagering 6 coins.

is there a way to convert this 114.016% into a meaning full number
based on vpw 5 coins.

thank you

kevin

multiply by .8333 (5/6)

The way to do it is to divide the lower coin by the higher coin. Not to
offend you or anyone else by going back to 8th grade math or looking snooty
by using combinatorial mathematical symbols, just ask yourself, how many
times will 6 go into 5? it should be pretty obvious that the answer is less
than 1, so when you divide 5 by 6, your calculator should show you .8333
(I'm truncating all but 4 decimal places of the answer). So, if 6 will go
into 5 .8333 times, all of the payoffs in the game will be the exact same
percentage. Assuming that your paytable entry into VPW is correct, multiply
your 114.016% return figure by .8333 and you should show the proper 6 coin
return of the game as 95.01%.

Which seems way too low. 8/5 Bonus Wheel and 9/6 DDB Wheel are very
roughly around 99.5, even 6/5 bonus wheel would be about 97.5 . I
suppose it could be 5/4 bonus wheel, would people really play such a game?

Assuming the EV of the wheel is 428 coins, the 6 coin 8/5 Bonus
paytable looks like this:

rf 4000
sf 250
4A 828
4(2-4) 628
4k 553
fh 40
fl 25
st 20
3k 15
2p 10
hp 5

Put those values in as 6 coin values into VPSM and you get the strategy.

VPSM can handle 6 coins, I don't know if VPW or FVP can.
