Absolutely - and if someone comes up with a good machine selection strategy,
please let me know - the only place I've won any money in December was at
craps :frowning:

Happy New Year Karen,

I hope the VP Goddess will start to smile in your direction in
2005 !!

As far as machine selection goes, my best strategy is as follows:

   1. Look for an end seat, so people can only annoy you from ONE
direction.

   2. Avoid a seat next to anyone who is smoking cigarettes and not
inhaling, or smoking any kind of cigar. Be sure to eyeball the coin
tray for tell-tale signs of impending smoking behavior.

    3. Avoid plopping down near a gum cracker, a drunk, someone
desperately in need of a shower, or who is singing, humming,
swearing under their breath, or carrying on conversation with
themselves.

     4. It is usually also prudent to avoid exteme button bangers,
as they are frequently in a foul mood and may attempt to influence
your machine negatively.

Outside of the above, I can only suggest that you loudly recite
whatever prayer or incantation you normally use to exhort Santa
Clause, The Easter Bunny, the Thanksgiving Turkey (how lucky is
he??) or the Halloween Jack-O-Lantern, to make your machine hot, or
your toosh "lucky" (with apologies to all my friends who object to
the word, lucky).

I'm glad that you've at least won at Craps. I have never played
Craps, but my daughter-in-law is a Craps nut, who nearly always
loses her entire bankroll, much to the consternation of my son, a
card-counting math-head BJ player. Her main problem is money
management. It seems that no matter how much she is ahead, she stays
at the table until the good streak ends, and she loses all her
winnings, plus her original stake. Once she stood at the table so
long that her shoes literally disintegrated! I'm NOT kidding. She
had to buy new shoes to wear home, on the plane, after her heel
fell through the sole of one of her shoes. I was ROFL, and after
awhile she was also. Thank goodness, she's a good sport.

Anyway, no matter what happens......HAVE FUN! Thats what it's all
about (for me, anyway).
