Changes to OLG Winners Circle Reward Program

Looks like one of the changes starting today is 3 tiers of membership:
Gold, Silver, and Rewards.

Sounds similar to what other casinos have in place. Too bad the
website isn't working right yet...

https://www.winnerscirclerewards.ca/Default.aspx

Most importantly, they've now halved the cashback rate for video poker.

Add this to the removal of the playable games at Woodbine, and there's
absolutely no reason to frequent the place now.

Perhaps halving the cashback rate for VP might mean that OLG slots will
be bringing in more playable games. Having the same rate makes sense
when the VP games are LOUSY (e.g. 6/5 JOB). Perhaps decent VP games
(8/6 JOB or Multistrike) may be on the way in the near future.

Most importantly, they've now halved the cashback rate for video

poker.

You would think that might be the case; however I was just there today
and they have replaced all of the $5 Game Makers with new "High
Definition" Game Makers and, of course, down-graded the full-pay
Pick'em to the 96.4% variant. They also down-graded Double Bonus from
the former 98.1% variant to a dismal 95.2% variant.

So it turns out BLavoie was right. For Video Poker aficionados there
is absolutely NO REASON to frequent the place now.

There are 5 of the 'old' Game Makers left with 98.1% Double Bonus at
the $1 level. You'll find them near the North side, right close to
the self-serve Winners Circle Rewards kiosks. Who knows how long
these will be there though....

It has become obvious to me that the only customers they want are ones that are happy to make large donations to the casino. I for one will not darken the doorway of any casino that doesn't at least give me a chance to not lose my butt. There are still enough places that offer %98.9 or greater games around than to put up with this kind of crap.

Just came back from Las Vegas with $4000.00 worth of 1042-s forms and more great
offers for tournaments, comps, food and lodging than I know what to do with. A pox on all
the Mickey Mouse Canadian casinos and I can't wait to go back in December thanks to the
great Westjet sale on right now and for January to file my NR-1040 to get all this money
back.
