Changes To Coast Casinos Players Club

The information below was posted at the SunCoast, but presumably it
also applies to the other Coast properties.

A consolidated "Club Coast" players system is going to replace the
individual systems at each property. At the SunCoast, this
means "Club Denaro" is going away. The old system will be dropped
sometime on February 24th and the new system brought up on February
25th (hopefully by 8AM). During the upgrade period players will NOT
be able to earn any points.

I was told the Club Coast reward program will be the same (at the
SunCoast anyway), but they did not have any printed materials about
the new system to confirm this. Also, I was told that existing
points will automatically be transferred to the new Club Coast
program.

Since this is happening very soon, I assume the old cards will still
work after the upgrade ... at least for awhile. I'll try to confirm
that this evening.

For me, personally, I'm going to compare my before and after point
totals to make sure that nothing was "lost in translation". It would
be unfortunate if this did happen, because there is no way for a
player to prove their old point total, once the new system goes
online. This could get complicated if a player has points at more
than one Coast casino. Presumably the upgrade will consolidate the
point totals. I'll inquire into this issue later today as well.

The bad part of this merger (for me) is:
-- that I've been working my way to getting that nice green leather
jacket at The Orleans for many years and now (when I'm so close to
the 1,000,000 points), they just decided to cancel the merchandise
promotion even though I gained close to nothing from the Gold Coast
points.

What-a-bomber!?

If you are really that close then you should go to the slot desk and talk to
them. I hit a million points about a week after they ended the merchandise
promotion and they still gave me the jacket.

For me, personally, I'm going to compare my before and after point
totals to make sure that nothing was "lost in translation". It

would

be unfortunate if this did happen, because there is no way for a

After further checking, a few details mentioned earlier need
changing. First, the "Club Coast" card is already being used at the
other Coast casinos (or some of them). But it is "new" at the
SunCoast. Also, after the upgrade is completed (on 2/25) the old
Club Denaro card will no longer work. You must use the new Club
Coast card after 2/25, to earn points. I got mine today.

I was also told that points never expire, under the old or the new
point system. For example, if you visit once and return 2 years
later your earlier points should still be in their database.

They also said the points at each casino will be consolidated into a
single total. Make sure your name/address is spelled the same at
each coast casino where you have points or the consolidation may not
work correctly, because I think this is how they match records.

Also, they will continue to keep track of each players lifetime total
points, but as of 2/25 you can't redeem for a merchandise gift at the
various point thresholds (for example, a leather jacket at 1 million
lifetime points). Perhaps in the future the merchandise comp will be
restored. If you have never redeemed a merchandise gift based on
lifetime points you MUST do it before the old Club Denaro system goes
down on 2/24. This evening, there were lots of people doing exactly
that ... including me.

This change is being done sort of "quietly". I never received any
notification by mail. A lot of people are going to discover, on
2/25, their old card doesn't work, and wonder why! Perhaps they want
to keep a low profile to avoid being deluged with merchandise
requests.
