So I've been playing the double bonus game on Intercasino every month
in order to get their deposit bonus. This game does not have a true
double bonus pay table, but instead is a variant of bonus poker, where
trips pay 3 credits, but quads are more than bonus poker but less than
double bonus. Anyway, the game is essentially break even, but with
the deposit bonusses every month, is positive while earning bonusses.
To this point I have not noticed any problems with them and they came
recommended by several members of this group. Friday night I was
playing and all of a sudden I thought it paid me 5 instead of 10 coins
for 2 pair. At first I thought I saw it wrong and since I was already
on the next hand, I dismissed it as an error on my part. But sure
enough, I got two pair again, and it told me I was paid 5 coins. So of
course I stop playing at once and email the casino manager.
Yesterday morning I got a reply from the manager saying to call
customer service, which I did. She looked a few things up and said I
would need to email the manager. I asked for the email address and of
course it is the same one I emailed Friday night. I told her I already
sent an email to that address and I was told to call the customer
service number. In response, she said she would email the manager
herself and that I should hear back in 24 to 48 hours. So far I have
not heard back and have also sent a couple of followup emails to the
manager - but to be fair, it has not yet been 48 hours.
However, I think I've figured out what has happened. I decided to log
onto my InterCasino account to see if they made everything right and
credited my account. Well, what I found instead was a transformed
site. The site looked different. So I checked the paytable of the
double bonus game. Sure enough the game is now standard 9/7/5 double
bonus. What I think happened is that the programming changed before
the interface changed. So I was playing on the new game with the old
interface. So the thing is, it is possible they would have paid me
more than I was expecting if I had hit trips, a full house, or a
flush. So now I am not sure how hard to pursue the issue. However, I
am concerned by the run around and slow response by management.
Anyway, the moral of the story is to always check what you are being
paid in addition to the paytables whenever you sit down to play. I am
sure if something similar happened in Vegas, they would have to honor
the paytable shown and make up the difference on the two pair. And
for those who play on InterCasino, beware new paytables. There is no
longer positive VP on the site, even with the deposit bonus, unless
their 8/5 JOB progressive grows to some huge amount.
