The vp has been OK for a while now. The problem I have had with playing
there has been the dearth of marketing. I have played there a few times and
never once received a darned thing in the mail, and while they have CB now I
haven't heard of any good promotions or positive reports of bounce back.
There is nothing I see that makes it preferable to playing there over MS,
but maybe I'm missing something.

I played one day about $4000 coin-in last month at Trump. I don't know what
my wife's coin-in was. I received 1 $25 coupon last week, and my wife
received 1 $10 coupon.

A move in the right direction. I wish the Trump exec would have
enlisted Howard for this audit! I'd be willing to help too, but would
probably have ruffled some feathers.
Some "nits" that I have with the article:
1. As Howard correctly points out, in the absence of meaningful BB/CB
nothing new at Trump represents a positive play.
2. Grochowski is quite generous as to what he calls a "strong play"
(without BB/CB considerations). I draw the line at 9/6 JOB, having
weaned myself off DDB long ago.
3. The author reports "the first appearance in this market of
super-full pay 10-6 Double Double Bonus". Hmmmm. How is this possible?
10/6 DDB is a 100.07% game. Doesn't Indiana law limit paybacks to 100%?
4. "Five Play Multi-Strike provides extra fun and reduces the extreme
volatility of Multi-Strike". While it is fun, the observation on
volatility is contrary to previously published reports. Injecting
covariance into a game amplifies the swings (i.e. "volatility") of
results, it does not reduce them. I'm surprised "the cat" didn't jump
all over this. Perhaps he was defanged by Don & Mikes $.05 100 plays?
5. One thing that is usually missing in these types of reports (and I
don't fault only John for this) is any reference to the variance of
the new games. When casino execs hire someone like Bob Dancer, guess
what he recommends? High payback percentage (which casino marketing
loves) games with ultra high variance (which kill the average vp
player who plays with neither a sufficient playing nor session
bankroll). The casino ends up happy and so does good ole Bob as he
sells more strategy cards and writes more columns to cover these games.
Yes, Trump's interest in improving their vp inventory is certainly a
positive development, but sofar is no threat to unseat MS supremacy
resulting in any defections of vp regulars.

I read a article several months ago by Grochowoski where he was
reviewing area buffets and hotels...well he just thought Trump's
hotel was fantastic! evidently they put him in one of their premium
suites nice for him but most reputable jounalists when they are doing
restuarant and hotel reviews do it incognito to get a fair
assessment...rather than walking in and saying I'm John Grochowski
from the Chicago Sun Times I would like to write a review of your
hotel and restuarant...Not quite up to New York Times standards.
Some "nits" that I have with the article:
1. As Howard correctly points out, in the absence of meaningful
BB/CB
I just got $20, buffet, and hotel any night for less than 200pts
played...this is actually competitive with M/S since my cb is now 10%
of my high water mark.

I was surprise by that remark also since this was put to rest when
Jean Scott made the same mistake when these machines first appeared.
It would reduce volatility if you divide the same total be among more
hands e.g. play 5-play .05 versus single line .25 game

It always shocked me that 'The Donald' would even want

known better.
The buffet is actually an improvement over what the
buffet used to be before they closed it and reopened
it. Still has a ways to go tho.
The food at Trump's President's Club is slipping a
bit. But it still beats what Majestic's VIP offers.
Did anyone else get the 3x's points on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays in March and April postcard from Trump's?
When I was getting decent bb from MS, I usually also
got a coupon for 2 free buffets. This most recent
mailer, the bb was only $5, but there were 2 coupons
each for my choice of 4 free buffets or $75 at Koko
Taylor's.
Looks like Barden is taking his sweet time starting
construction on the proposed hotel.
