CB comps

The comp system has changed for sure at the CB and EW since the first
of the year. You no longer have a banked comp account that is easy to
check.

I got an offer in the mail today for a Valentine's dinner for Feb. 9th.-
-- Gee, thanks for all the lead time on this offer. Anyway, what
really caught my eye on this offer was the small print with the
disclaimer. "Comp dollar charge for this event". This is the first
time I have seen this on any offers from the CB.

Let's see- I just checked my comp account on line, and it shows -0-.
So, I guess there must be some secret comp account that they can
access. I wonder how much comps I have? Do the boothlings have any
authority to give out comps? Maybe it is time to get friendly with a
host to see what I am missing. I have had no need in the past.

You know- I prefer the old system where it was all laid out for you.

Maybe a lot of things have changed with the comp system since the
first of the year. I will know better after next weekend. I booked
the Valentine" offer last week. My host was off duty and I was
telephoning from out of town last Monday. I booked the offer from
woman named Veronica. I only booked 3 nights of the 5 night offer.
Upon booking I asked what the fine print of "Comp Dollar charge for
this event" meant. She simply said "never mind, that was a misprint"
I accepted her answer and did not pursue it further. However, it
may be a sign of changes that have been made. I just do not think it
will have anything to do with this offer. FWIW, I was told there
were only smoking rooms available last as of last Monday. I accepted
the room since I also have a non smoking room booked at Harrah's. I
had also booked Harrah's previously to take advantage of a golf.
After returning home, I emailed my host, Sharon, about preferring
a non smoking room. I have not heard back, but simply will not use
is if smoke is a problem.
Since last Super Bowl weekend, it is an anniversary of sorts, I
have been receiving full RFB at the Belle. The first time
I thought this must be a mistake. I am not sure what play level has
obtained this benefit. However, I usually will put on about 4,000
points playing just video poker. I make it a point to concentrate my
in one 24 hour period and one day of play for every 3 nights stay.
If I stay 5 nights I would play 2 days at that level. I very seldom
want to stay 5 nights. Each visit I wonder how close I am to their
threshold. Each visit has basically put me in a nicer room and now
suites. I also keep being moved up floors on the boat. The last
time I made it to a top deck with a river view.
Please understand that I am not boasting about my situation, but
rather describing what I have done and what has resulted. As I have
said, I do not know if this can or will be maintained, but it has
been a good year for food and drink at the Belle. To us a room is
basically a room if it is clean. I do not sit around in their robes
or worry about gift baskets when I have RFB. I do like the nicer
TV's that have come with the better rooms. What is it with those old
13" TVs? At least they seem to be 13 inches!

Thanks for the information. Perhaps this weekend you will be able to
find out what the situation is with the comp policy. I really guess
if you come in with a RFB deal, what else can you do with the comps?
That is good enough for me. I too have been getting RFB for about 2
years now, and I certainly enjoy it. I also concentrate my play in
one day, and my last visit after Thanksgiving, I put through over 12K
with the help of GRAYTLEEGRAY playing on my card. I continued to use
the free meals, and actually fed 4 people in my group by spacing out
the meals. Who knows- I always wonder, like you that if the next time
I check in I will hear the words "Your Busted Buddy!" I hope you get
the $1,000 cash envelope at the dinner.
