Casinos VP trend? Playing to the Masses?

While I do not profess to be anywhere near the perfect VP player, I
do know what to look for and hopefully play at least "near perfect".
This Forum has been both instructive and enlightening.

I do see a lot of threads about Casinos pulling out FP
machines...and the resulting complaints. But I wonder if
the "perfect" player is not in the minority?

I would venture to guess that the average Vegas visitor has no clue
about play tables, much less perfect play. Recently I noticed at a
bar full of people, all drinking free and playing 6/5 is a good
example. They could care less. They were drinking free..trying to
win the $1,600 progressive and having a good time. Yet, nearby, a
handful of 10/7 DB machines had but one player.

The supposed "Royal Flush Capital of the World" is not crammed full
of FP machines, not by a long shot. Yet they have a full parking
lot for 5X Points Fridays and discounted buffets. Take a look
around and you'll see lots of folks dropping money in 7/5 machines
and having a ball.

I think the casinos will continue the trend just because they can.
Why offer a slew of FP machines when the vast majority have no idea
what FP is or how to achieve it? If a 6/5 machine makes as much or
more than a FP, why put in the full pay? Granted, they'll seed the
floor with some FP's for the knowledgeable.

Sure, its for the money. The Casinos know they have a huge
uneducated mass of VP players...and far be it for the casinos not to
take an advantage whenever they can.
