Casino Windsor

Pete, Thanks for your response; however, it is my understanding and
experience that quads in pickem appear approx every 2300 hands. Thus in a 6 hour
period I should have had at least one. Also, strange is the fact that no on
around me had one in a six hour period nor did anyone even have a hand pay, which
would be $400 or higher. Terry Murphy wrote in on this board a while back
concerning a similiar situation he encountered at Windsor. I thought perhaps
someone had information on Windsor... for example - that perhaps Windsor is
using the Amiga chip multitask timing device which allows big hands at certain
times only. There is a lot of knowledgeable members in this group. I was hoping
someone was aware of the situation there. Anyhow, thanks for you input.
Good luck to you...jackie

From what I understand, all video poker in the province of Ontario is
run the same way as any Vegas video poker . My wife works at the
Casino in Brantford ON which is also run like Windsor by the Ontario
Government and the OLGC, I am sure they run on the same guidelines.
She is good friends with many of the slot techs and I asked the
question some time ago and they are all random just as video poker
should be. It just may have been a bad run for those machines. I will
ask again though just to clear things up. The pick-em in Brantford and
Niagara are no longer full pay, and I am surprised to hear that
Windsor still has Full pay.

I would venture a guess that the competition across the border may
have some influence.

   Jackie,

To my understanding, the amiga cip is a multitask chip that
combines a 32-bit processor core, a didgital signal processor, and
several radio frequency base bands, or channels. It allows electronic
devices such as cordless phones to send and recieve wireless voice
and data communications.
I've never heard it mentioned in connection with any gambling
device like a video poker machine. But, nothing that a casino does
would ever surprise me. So I wouldn't put it past them.

has a vested interest in taking my money."
                     --Frank Scoblete

"Even though the technology exists to design such controls,
government regulators would not permit such a "master switch"
operation. They do not tolerate "cheating" by casinos any more than
by players."
                    --Dwight & Louise Creveit

"In california Indian casinos, the video poker machines do not
deal cards randomly. A public relations lawyer for the Indians
admitted it when interviewed by the Wall Street Journal."

I wouldn't either! But it does make me wonder why the casinos don't
(at least attempt to) prohibit the use of cell phones on their
premises(or at least on their gaming floors).

No, not so much because *our* cell phones would(or could) interfere
with *their* attempts at such transmissions, as much as the
possibility that we could attempt the same. And, considering that
the casinos are all private property, I bet they'd pull it off too(I
bet such prohibitions would hold up in court).
