Casino Windsor

First, the good news.? 3 quads at Pick 'em, 2 of which came from holding a pair.?

The bad news was the border crossing back into the US.?

Here's the conversation ( edited for brevity)

Customs Agent ( CA) -- How long were you in Canada?
JZ -- 4 or 5 hours
CA- Where were you ?
JZ - Casino?
CA - What games were you playing?
JZ - Video poker.
CA - How much do you have on you?
JZ - $1500
CA - How do you know that?
JZ -Well I started with $1000 and made $500 so that is $1500.
CA- Where is the money?
JZ? - In my pocket.
CA - Let me see it.
(As I fish out a wad of Canadian money)
Do you know the reporting regulations?
JZ - I believe anything over $10,000 has to be declared.
CA- ( after fanning through my money).? Ok you can go.

The whole thing was so ridiculous.? $1500 isn't a lot of money anymore.? When he said let me see it, I should have challenged him.? I do plan on printing out the reporting requirements and keeping it in the car.? Land that I love.

Yeah, they can be little gestapos, and you do look like a terrorist.
My experience has been to be nice, they don't take kindly to being
confronted. Hear stories about them taking apart your car and we all
know they are not smart enough to re assemble it! This is my only
reason for not going to Windsor, I love Canadians the casino staff is
so much more pleasant than our Detroit peeps and $1 pickem is very
playable.

The border guards are even questioning us old people
and will get worse as time gets closer to having a
passport. Going to Canada is not so bad but coming
back is h_ll as they hold up all cars and do searches
with your drivers license. One big reason us old ones
stay on this side as we burn up too much gas waiting
in line.
Maybe Windsor will lossen up their vp machines to get
you all over there.

When they asked you if you had any guns, you should have said, "What
do you need?" And I always thought that you were a bit of a
terrorist.

PS: I didn't win anything in the GT drawing Saturday. I played for
six hours, quarter Pick'Em and at the dollar bar. I was down about
$600 when I got lucky playing Bonus Poker and hit four $175 quads
within a short time and walked $120 ahead for the day. The
progressive was at $5500 when I left.
