Guys,
I originally booked a room about two months in advance at Windsor
Casino for the Jamboree. At that time a host told me that he would
look at my play after the event and maybe comp my room for the two
nights if I played enough. I went there once in April alone and
played dollar Pick'Em for several hours just so I could show some
play at their place before the seminar.
When we got there, Dolores and I played mostly dollar
and two dollar Pick'Em a lot on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On
Saturday, I asked a host if he could maybe pick up our dinner at the
Riverside Grill. (their up-scale restaurant) He said that he could
give me $120.
"Great! Thanks a lot!" I said. I thought to myself, "Isn't this is
a great place Pappy?" And old VP Pappy said in reply:
"If the casino is the fisherman, and comps are the bait, guess
who the fish are?

We ran into Jean and Brad before dinner playing dollar Pick'Em
(Jean had her feet up on both sides of the machine as if she was on
a horse and buggy and guiding the horse. Giddee up old Pick'em!!
Yeehaw!!) and I ask them if they wanted to go to dinner with us.
But, we had a late reservation and they were beat from getting in so
late the night before and they declined. So, we had a great "free"
expensive dinner that night.

Sunday morning, before the Jamboree started again, I went to see
my friendly host (never the same guy or girl) and ask him if he
would look at my play (Dolores and I played on the same card during
our stay) to see if he could maybe give us a break on our room fees.
He said he could comp us one night, which was fine with us. I said,
once again, "Thanks a lot, I appreciate it."
After the Jamboree and having checked out of our rooms earlier,
I decided to check out my cash back points by using one of their
kiosks. To my amazement, I found out that not only didn't I have
any cash back points left, but I also didn't have any food comps
either. It guess, unless I missed something, I paid for my food and
room directly out of what I had earned by gambling in their place.
That sure was an easy comp for my very friendly host. And to think,
I thanked him profusely each time.
"The host system is often difficult to use, since details about
how it works are not readily available to the public. It's a system
that punishes the shy players and rewards the aggressive ones."

This is no longer the kind of place I would want to spend a lot
of time gambling in what with their lousy video poker and lousy
comps. I don't think I will be coming back here very soon.

reform a dishonest one."
