A week ago exchange rate was US$1= C$0.99, this week it went to
US$1=C.96. But when I cashed back my Canadian currency to US they gave
US1=C1, even money! The cashier in the high limit area said they
always charge a 4% money changing fee. For the life of me, I never
noticed that they weren't satisfied with just the hold on all the
machines but that they also insisted on making 4% on changing currency
also. Has this really always been their policy? If so I can see why
between their 4% fee, no-smoking, Diamonds not allowed in thier lounge
(50K points and up only), the waits and tolls at the board, etc. why
they are not nearly as busy as they used to be.
